Michael and I went to Miami for my 30th birthday this year! It was such a fun trip to take as a couple. We were able to go to the spa, so many great restaurants, the pool, the beach. It was amazing! Here are some of details of the trip!

Where we stayed…

We stayed at the 1 Hotel in Miami! I have stayed there in the past and was there in the fall with my mom and sister. It is a really nice property. They have a beautiful pool area overlooking to the ocean. The property also has seven restaurants/bars! So if you want to stay somewhere where everything is right on property too, this is a great option.

Dining

We had dinner at so many great restaurants in Miami. The options are endless for any type of food you would want. We tried Mila, Pura Vida, and Cecconi’s Miami Beach.

Cecconi’s Miami Beach: We had amazing Espresso Martinis, the Ahi Tuna Tartare, Burrata, Spaghetti Lobster, Agnolotti del plin, truffle & parmesan fries. It was such a great meal and definitely one of my favorites.

Pura Vida: Pura vida was a great little lunch spot in Miami. It was so fresh and had great options. I had a Mango Smoothie and Avocado Toast.

Mila: This was definitely one of my absolute favorite restaurants. The vibe, the food, everything was on point! We had an amazing Margarita Verde, the Eel avocado roll, spicy hamachi roll, and miso-marinated chilean sea bass. Everything was amazing!

Sunlife Organics- There are several locations of Sunlife Organics across the U.S. and I love their smoothies. Some of our favorites were the Blue Majik, Million Dollar Smoothie, and their Matcha Latte.

What we did

Most of the days we would spend by the pool at the 1 Hotel! Their pool is so pretty and overlooks the ocean. We had great food there and read in the lounge chairs. We also went to the spa at the 1 Hotel. It was so nice! We really enjoyed it and highly recommend.

Other than spending time at the pool and spa, we also did a little bit of shopping. We went to the Fashion District and Brickell area. Both had amazing shopping and was a nice area to walk around.

Some Miami Shopping- What I got

We recently went to Disney World for a family vacation. It was so much fun because Julian is the age where he is so into all of the characters and he loved it! Rocco also did amazing on the trip, so it was so fun to see them together at Disney. You can watch our vlog here!

Where we stayed…

In the past we have stayed at the Four Seasons but this trip we stayed at Disney’s Riviera Resort – and it was a great experience. We had a one bedroom suite and we liked that we had a preferred view. We could see the fireworks from the balcony which was so nice (especially when the kids couldn’t stay up to see them in the park). We also had a dishwasher and washer/dryer in our room which was really nice! I still brought tide sticks and tide wipes to keep on hand while at the park. Another thing we liked at the Riviera was The Skyliner (gondola), it took you to different hotels and parks from our hotel. It was a nice way to get around the area. Something else to note, was that the hotel did provide baby gear- pack n play, high chair, etc. that they send to your room if you need it!

They also have a nice pool area that we used each day between parks! Julian loves to swim so he had a great time in all the pools and fountains.

A common question that was asked, was if we would recommend The Riviera over the Four Seasons. Rooms wise, it was very similar, both have great accommodations. The Riviera was nice that it had the Skyliner but we definitely prefer the Four Seasons for food and pools. At the Four Seasons you can also rent the baby jogger stroller from them too- which is great for traveling! We are staying at the Four Seasons in November but we enjoy both properties for Disney!

Transportation

The resort has a bus from the airport to the hotel and there is a bus to take you from the hotel to parks etc. We did rent a car so we could go to other places or the grocery store- definitely not necessary but we like to do so. And like I mentioned before there is also the Skyliner on hotel property to take you to various locations.

Dining

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant Topolino’s Terrace and it was really good for dinner! It is a nicer restaurant but still good for with kids as well. It is on the rooftop level of the resort. We also went there in the morning for the character breakfast! Julian loved seeing the characters and it was a good breakfast too. We booked this in advance of going, and I would recommend doing it early. We did so on the Disney App. The two lunch restaurants by the pool at the hotel were fine, nothing special here (mostly fried food) but do the trick for being able to eat on property.

For restaurants around the Disney Springs area we used the Disney app. It was pretty hard to get in to restaurants so we just used the app and ate wherever we could get in. We tried Homecoming, which was fried chicken and Frontera, which was Mexican food, both good restaurants.

The Parks

We went to all of the parks and then spent some time at the Art of Animation Resort as well! We had to check out their Radiator Springs area for Julian, he is obsessed with cars!! So that was a fun place to walk around and interact with some of the characters. One thing to note is you’ll want the Disney App (once again) to make reservations at the parks for each day. Make sure you stay up to date on reservation requirements for the parks before and during your stay**.

The way we did Disney this time was we would go to one park in the morning and then we would go back to the hotel in the afternoon to let the kids relax and we would hang at the pool. Then we went to a different park later in the afternoon.

  • Magic Kingdom- Has the most rides for both of our kids to enjoy, which was so nice given we were traveling with a 6 month old and a three year old. These rides are way more of an “experience” than roller coaster etc. We also enjoyed that the wait times were really short at this park!
  • Epcot- Epcot is a great area for food and drinks, especially for adults. There are two rides here though that are good for kids, Frozen and Finding Nemo- Julian loved the Frozen one.
  • Hollywood Studios- this park also had great rides for kids, one of Julian’s favorites there was the Toy Story ride.
  • Animal Kingdom- Julian loved looking at all the animals in the safari. There were also dinosaurs which was a big hit too!

Baby Centers- there are baby centers all over Disney that are great for feeding, changing, breastfeeding, etc. your baby.

Nap time- Julian doesn’t nap so that wasn’t an issue for us. Rocco slept in the stroller when he got tired and it worked great! His stroller laid down all the way flat so it was good for naps.

**NO FAST PASSES RIGHT NOW- But you can check wait times on the Disney App**

Disney Essentials

Here are some of the top items we used at Disney!

Baby jogger stroller– We used this stroller the whole time at Disney and it was AMAZING. I loved that it is a side by side stroller, which was great for the boys’ ages. I like that It folds really easy (side note-you do have to fold it to go on the skyline -only tandem back and front strollers can go on it). It also has a nice basket underneath for storage which was great. We highly recommend this stroller. We have the single Baby Jogger back home as well.

Stroller add ons- snack tray and the belly bars You have to have the belly bar to use the snack tray but we loved adding these two items to our baby jogger- it made snack time easy and getting in and out of the stroller more seamless.

Stroller caddy– We added a caddy on to hold all of our things on the handle. It holds our iPhones, wallets, baby stuff, drinks, etc. I like that it felt very sturdy and secure and didn’t feel like our drinks would fall out like with other cupholders. This accessory works for a single or a double stroller as well.

Rain shield – We brought a Baby Jogger rain shield to attach to the baby jogger in case it rained (which it did while we were there). It was so nice to have and I highly recommend getting one. We also brought ponchos from Amazon with Mickey on them.

Fans– It was really hot so we brought three of these adjustable fans for the stroller. I secured them on to the stroller- two for Rocco and one for Julian. It is so nice because they hook on to anything with the adjustable base. We charged them at night and they were so nice to have in the heat!

Baby Food – For Rocco I packed all his Little Spoon food and formula from home and brought it to the park with his bottles in a little lunchbox with ice packs.

For the plane:

  • Lunchbox– We used a little lunchbox that fits four bottles, his Little Spoon food, and ice packs for transporting on the plane and for the day at the park. (I brought Little Spoon to Florida in my suitcase in the lunchboxes with the ice packs. It is only a short flight for us so that was fine. But I believe you can bring baby food in a cary on as well).
  • I also brought a full container of formula in the checked suitcase, and duct taped it shut. Then in my carryon I bring little travel containers full of formula and a bottle for during the flight.
  • Car seats- we check our car seats at the airport so we used these covers on them!

My Outfits

Disney is all about staying comfortable and cool- and also nothing too crazy when you have kids! I found some easy pieces like this outdoor voices dress, trucker hat (similar here), and my on cloud tennis shoes and these socks! I was comfortable all day long! I also really love my new Lululemon crossbody bag. It fit all my essentials and some mom essentials too. Shop the rest of my looks below!

We took a fun family vacation in 30A this past week. It was so nice to getaway and spend time as a family with our good friends. If you aren’t familiar, 30A is a stretch of a few towns along the 30A highway in Florida’s panhandle. It is closest to Destin and Panama City Beach. But 30A is such a different vibe, so many beautiful homes, clear water, amazing restaurants and cute shops. Some of the towns in 30A are Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach and Seaside. Each are so cute and fun! We also love how kid friendly 30A is. There are always cute activities happening in town that the kids love!

Travel Details…

For accommodations, we rented a home in Rosemary Beach. This is such a nice spot and it was steps away from the beach which was amazing! We loved staying in Rosemary because we could walk everywhere, the beach, coffee shops, and restaurants. The beach on Rosemary is so nice and has rentals so you can get chairs and umbrellas on the beach for the day. We did this for our beach days and it came in so handy, especially when you pack limited items for a flight! We also did a big Shipt order from target and Publix to get some essentials for the week. There is also a small market for basic items called Suncoast Sundries close by. We also rented baby gear from Beach Baby Crib Rentals– a crib, swing, beach tent, and bed rails! That made it so easy for us traveling with Julian and Rocco.

Things we did…

We did a lot of fun things in 30A. It is so family friendly and everything is so close by. We spent a lot of time at the pool, the beach, and at The Hub 30A with the kids. They had all sorts of fun things to do like tie dye, movie nights, dancing, magic shows and more! Julian and his friends had so much fun! We also went to Gigi’s Fabulous Kids to do some shopping for the kids! They have the cutest toys and clothes for the kids and Julian had a great time going in there. It is also right in downtown Rosemary Beach.

Dining…

There are SO MANY good restaurants in 30A. We loved all the nice meals we had and there are obviously so many good patios too!! So much seafood and and great flavors. All the beach towns along 30A have great options so it was fun to bounce around from town to town to explore all they had to offer.

George’s

One of our favorites was George’s in Alys Beach. It was an amazing outdoor restaurant with amazing food. We started with a lobster quesadilla, the fish tacos and some great apps and drinks. This is a good spot for kids too because of the outdoor area and friendly vibe. We went to lunches here a couple times.

Pescado

Pescado is one of the nicest restaurants in Rosemary Beach. It is right in the heart of town and we were able to walk from our rental house. The upstairs patio has an amazing view of the beach which is so nice and sets the perfect ambiance for an evening dinner. So I would recommend requesting to sit outside. We had a fantastic meal here. We had the Tomahawk for two (SO good) and the sea bass- highly recommend both. For cocktails, we had the honeymoon drink which is a refreshing take on a margarita. For dessert, we had the cobbler which was great!

The Citizen

Citizen was in Alys Beach and was a great fresh seafood and coastal cuisine in a cool modern vibe. We had a really good meal here our last night in 30A. They have an amazing selection of oysters and seafood to choose from!

Coffee & Donuts

In the mornings we loved that we could walk to the main downtown of Rosemary Beach from our house. One of our favorite places to grab a coffee was Amavida Coffee downtown. They had a great iced coffee with coconut milk that I loved, as well as their avocado toast and scones! Then we also went to the Donut Hole a little ways down from Rosemary Beach. The kids loved it there and we always got the pink sprinkled donuts.

The Pearl Rosemary Beach

The Pearl in Rosemary Beach is a beautiful boutique hotel. If you are looking for a good hotel to stay at on 30A this would be amazing. It is right downtown Rosemary and it is steps away from the ocean and has a huge lawn right in front of it. Since we stayed in a house this time, we decided to do a couples massage which was awesome and near the pool. We loved that since we went to their spa there, we got access to the pool for a few hours during nap time afterwards. Otherwise you need to be a guest to use the pool. There’s great food by the pool too. We had spicy margaritas and espresso martinis and you’ll have to try the wings for lunch or dinner! We would say this is the perfect spot for a couples trip or adult vacation.

Overall, we had an amazing vacation in 30A and really enjoyed ourselves. There were so many great things for couples, kids, and people of all ages so it was amazing. With it being a short flight or 6 hour drive from Nashville, it’s a great family vacation spot for us!

A Maui Getaway

Maui has always been a special place to us. We have shared so many great memories together here and we were so happy to be able to go back as a family. Vacation Highlights

  • Where to Stay

  • Where to Eat
  • What to Do

Where to Stay

The Grand Wailea is a beautiful property. From the stunning pools, to the rooms with a view, the amazing spa, and the restaurants on property- everything screams “Hawaii” in the most elegant way. We loved eating breakfast outside every morning or stopping for coffee at their on-site coffee shop, Cafe Kula. I’ve linked vlogs from our stay here.

What to Wear

Vacation style is always so fun-and on a Hawaiian vacation it doesn’t get much better. From the bright colors to cute cover-ups and bathing suits it’s always so exciting to dress while on vacation. Breezy dresses are always cool for warm days and nights and easy pieces like jean shorts (my favorites are the Jaden Short) work great for over this green bathing suit or this yellow one! One of my favorite looks to style was this hot pink top and shorts. It was perfect for daily wear and can be styled so many different ways. Makeup is also a fun way to mix things up while on vacay. I did a youtube video on getting glam after a day on the beach here. Fun lip colors and a sleek bun are perfect for instantly looking glam- especially with that nice vacation tan!

Where to Eat

Maui is filled with so many great restaurants with tons of fresh seafood! There are a few restaurants that are our favorites here:

The Mill House Maui – The setting of this restaurant is at the base of the mountains, with views so stunning you think it popped out of a screen saver. The perfect time to go is before sunset so you can see the beautiful property, set on the Maui Tropical Plantation. Make a reservation for the patio and you will not be disappointed. The food  is amazing too- you simply cannot go wrong here. I wore this slip dress perfect for the evening heat- and so effortlessly glam.

Duo Steak and Seafood– This restaurant was at the neighboring Four Seasons Resort, and was equal parts elegant and delicious. It was so nice to get dressed up and go out to eat here!

Some more amazing restaurants around the island are:
